Terry shows As/Kh while McLaughlin has Ac/2d. The board comes down Jd/4d/5c/9d/4s and Jeremy McLaughlin has been eliminated after an extremely WPO series in which he makes the final table of both the $2,000 event as well as the $3,000 championship event.

PPI Update

Eric Siegel reports that Poker Players International would like to thank the Borgata for an amazing series of Winter Open events. Everyone involved including Tournament Director Tab, his entire staff and dealers did a wonderful job. The Borgata had the insight to make innovative changes to this year's Main Event, and we would like to acknowledge their vision, which attracted over 1,000 players, generating a prize pool of over $3,000,000, one million over the prize guarantee. PPI would also like to thank all of the poker players and fans that helped make this years Borgata Winter Open an amazing success. Finally we want to applaud Michael Friedman, Johnnie Walker and Tropical Steve, who have covered the entire series of events here on the Borgata Poker Blog. You have enhanced the 'Borgata Poker Experience" for all the players while keeping all our friends, families and fans in tune to the action every step of the way.

Michael doubles up. He has the largest cheering section, and they are quite loud indeed.

Charlie Marchese Busts 9th ($61,020)

Charlie Marchese shoves his remaining $1.5 million into the pot and it is folded around to Jeremy McLaughlin who wakes up with A/A and makes the easy call. Charlie has J/9 and will need some help.

The board comes out Q/3/J/2/4 and McLaughlin wins with his aces and takes Marchese out of our main event with over $60,000 for his efforts.

Shawn Pilot Eliminated in 10th ($39,663)

Steve Weinstein raises to 405,000 and Shawn Pilot calls. The flop is 5c-3s-3h and Shawn goes all in. Steve asks for a count. "One million and..."

Steve: "I call."

Steve: Js-Jd
Shawn: Kd-10d

The turn and river are 3d-10s and Shawn is eliminated. We're now at our official final table.

Jeremy McLaughlin Doubles

Anthony Merulla raises the pot to $750,000 and Jeremy McLaughlin in the big blind shoves all-in for 2 million total. He gets the call from Merulla holding the A/5 while McLaughlin has A/Q. The board comes out 9d/2s/2c/10h/Qd, shipping the pot to McLaughlin and putting him at nearly $5 million.

They Ain't Biting

Almost every player has threatened the table with an all-in raise preflop. However, nobody is taking the bait, even for a tenth of their stack to call. Tight is right at this table of 10, apparently.

Final 10

Here are the final 10 participants.

1. Anthony Merulla
2. Steve Weinstein
3. Frank Caldwell
4. Carl P
5. Jeremy McLaughlin
6. Todd Terry
7. Charlie Marchese
8. Ory Hen
9. Shawn Pilot
10. Michael Contessa

George Medrano Busts in 11th Place ($39,663)

With a flop of 3h/Qh/5s, George Medrano bets out $350,000 into the pot and is raised by Anthony Merulla who comes over the top with a raise to 1 million. Medrano gives some thought about his predicament and goes all-in. Merulla snap calls the bet and flips over 5/5 for the set while George has K/K. The turn and river come out 8c/7d and Medrano, after having had his stack chopped up in a previous hand from Merulla, has been eliminated.

Michael Contessa Doubles Again

Carl P raises to 160,000. Shawn Pilot re-raises to 460,000. Michael Contessa three-bets to 1,155,000 all in. Carl folds and Shawn goes into the tank. Eventually, he calls.

Shawn: Js-Jc
Michael: Qs-Qd

Board: 8s-Kd-As-Ks-4h

Michael doubles through.

Carl P. Shouts Out Again

More wishes from Carl P. as he wants to say a big hello and thanks to the Cosenza (sp?) gang and Aaron.

Anthony Merulla Hits a Huge Double Up

Anthony Merulla and George Medrano take a flop and see a 2s/Ad/Jh hit the board. George bets out $500,000 and Merulla re-raises and makes it 1 million. George wastes no time in moving his stack all-in and after about 2 minutes, Merulla makes the call for his remaining $3.4 million and throws down A/5 while George flips over A/K and has him in very bad shape. The turn does not change anything when the 8c hits the board but the 5c spikes on the river and Merulla hits his three outer shooting up from his chair yelling "One time....yes, finally one time!"

Ory Hen Doubles Again

Ory Hen is all in and Steve Weinstein calls.

Ory: 6h-6c
Steve: Ks-Qh

Board: Jc-8c-4d-2c-7s

Ory doubles up.

Nice Pot

Shawn Pilot raises to 325,000 and Carl P calls. The flop is 2s-6c-8s and both check. The turn is 3d and Carl bets 275,000. Shawn calls. The river is 2h and Carl bets 450,000. Shawn folds.

We are Back

Blinds are 80,000 / 160,000 with a 20,000 ante. Price just went up! We're now eleven handed. Let's go!

Carl P. Sends a Shout Out

Carl P. wanted to send a hello and shout out to Daniel C. who is watching tonight on the blog.

We wish Carl all the best as the tournament continues.

Break Time

The remaining 11 players are on a one-hour dinner break.

Marchese Stacks a Pot

The last PPI player standing just stacked a monster pot after making his opponent fold. Marchese shows A/K face-up and Seat 5 errupts with disapproval. "How can you play that?"

Marchese: "I wanted a call. I thought we were going to race."

Huge Pot Swing

Steve Weinstein raises to 325,000 and Shawn Pilot calls.

The flop is 3s-9c-4d and Shawn checks. Weinstein bets 350,000. Shawn calls.

The turn is 2c and Shawn bets 1,000,000. Weinstein calls.

The river is Qh and Shawn bets 3,000,000. Weinstein folds. One of the biggest pots of the day without an elimination or double up.

Kenneth Smaron Eliminated in 12th ($39,663)

The bustouts are fast and furious, folks!

Kenneth Smaron and Todd Terry are all in.

Kenneth 4-2
Todd: A-4

Board: A-2-4-A-x

Kenneth is out. We're down to 11, just like that.

Manny Minaya Eliminated in 13th ($28,984)

Manny Minaya and Michael Contessa get it all in.

Manny: Qc-10s
Michael: Ad-Qs

Board: 8c-10c-6c-As-4h

Manny is eliminated.

Mirsad Kovaci Busts 14th ($28,984)

Mirsad Kovaci sitting on a very short stack finally ships his chips all-in for $255,000 and gets a call from Jeremy McLaughlin in the big blind. Kovaci holds Jd/Qh versus Kd/2d for McLaughlin.

The flop comes down 3s/4h/3c helping neither player but the turn shoots McLaughlin into the lead when the Kh falls. The river is Ah and sends Kovaci home in 14th place.

Andrew Barta Eliminated in 15th ($28,984)

Andrew Barta shoves and Carl P calls.

Andrew: Ac-4s
Carl: Ad-Kd

Board: 7c-As-Qc-5d-3d

Andrew is out.

John Myung Eliminated in 16th ($18,306)

John Myung open-shoves on the button and Ory Hen calls.

John: Jd-10h
Ory: 7d-3c

Board: 8c-3s-2h-9d-8d

John got seventh place in September, so this is his second straight top-16 finish at Borgata Opens.

Steve Weinstein Doubles

On a flop of 3d-6s-3s, Steve Weinstein bets 500,000 and John Myung calls. The turn is 10c and Steve is all in for 1,065,000. Myung tanks for about eleven minutes and finally calls with Qc-Qd, but Steve has Kh-Kc. The river bricks out and Steve doubles up big. John has just 600,000 left.

John Myung Doubles

John Myung and Steve Weinstein get it all in preflop.

John: Qd-Qh
Steve: Ac-Kc

Board: 7d-9s-7s-4d-6h

John doubles up.

Level Up

We are $60,000/$120,000 with $10,000 ante.

Oh Look...It's Medrano Again

4 players take a flop that shows 3h/9d/10c and all players check the flop. The turn comes down a 5c and Todd Terry bets $250,000 while George and Shawn Pilot make the call. The river brings a Qs and it is checked around to Pilot who bets out $350,000, both Terry and Mederano make the call and George flips up Q/K for the rivered Queen and Terry mucks his hand with a visible look of disgust as he asks to have the dealer show Pilot's hand (A/4).

Medrano continues to increase his stack well over the $12 million mark.

Medrano Vs Pilot

Once again, George Medrano and Shawn Pilot have clashed with the same results. Mederano seems to have Pilot's number after he got Pilot to fold As/2s on a Ks/2s/5d board when he moved all-in, putting Pilot to a decision for his tournament life. Pilot folded his Nut flush draw.

Merulla vs. Terry

Anthony Merulla raises to 250,000. Todd Terry and George Medrano call.

The flop is 5h-Jh-5c and it's checked to Anthony, who bets 350,000. George folds. Todd calls.

The turn is 7h and both check.

The river is 10c and Todd checks. Anthony bets 300,000. Todd reacts in shock. "River a set of 10s?" he wonders. Todd makes the call and Anthony shows Ad-5d for flopped trips and the pot.
